On May 28-20, 2008, DGPis40 celebrated the 40-year anniversary of the Dynamic Graphics Project (DGP) at the University of Toronto – an incredibly successful, award-winning research group that encompasses the research areas of graphics and human-computer interaction (HCI).

The event featured talks by leaders in the field (most of whom are also DGP alumni), research demos and poster sessions by alumni, students, and faculty, and opportunities for socializing and celebrating the rich history and promising future of DGP.

DGPis40 was an outstanding success – over the course of our events on May 28-30, DGPis40 was attended by approximately 130 alumni, students, faculty, friends, and guests. We have received unanimous feedback from participants that the talks were fascinating and gave a wonderful perspective of the last 40 years as well as some ideas going forward. The reunion also provided a great opportunity to reunite with old friends and make some new, strong connections with students and alumni. We are happy to announce that pictures of the event as well as rich media archives of the DGPis40 talks are now accessible through our website. We hope you enjoy viewing the pictures and talk archives as much as we did!

Sincerely,

Ron Baecker and Eugene Fiume
